David McGluwa is currently the Head: Small Business Finance and Regions at the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). He joined the IDC in 1999 as Senior Account Manager in the International Finance Division and was involved in the structuring and financing of cross border projects outside of South Africa. In 2005 he joined the Workout and Restructuring team where he gained valuable experience in restructuring and company turnarounds. In 2008 he was appointed as Regional Manager for the North West where he established 3 fully fledged offices and 2 satellite offices. Under his tutelage, the IDC exposure in the North West Province grew from R1,4bn to R7,2bn at the time of his departure to Head Office in 2017 when he was appointed Head: Operations Head Office and Regions. Before joining the IDC, David gained valuable banking experience at FNB Corporate in Johannesburg as Manager Trade Finance. In 1995, David graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree at the North West University and during his professional career, he obtained numerous post graduate qualifications and served on the boards of various companies.
