Federico Marchetti is Founder of YOOX NET-A-PORTER Group, Chairman of the Fashion Task Force founded by King Charles III and Member of the Board of Directors of Giorgio Armani.

In 2021, he agreed to join the Board of Trustees of Highgrove Gardens and the Board of Trustees of the Prince’s Foundation. In the same year, joined the Board of Directors of Gruppo Editoriale GEDI, Italy’s leading print, radio and digital publishing network.

In 2020, he became the first non-family member to join the Board of Directors of Giorgio Armani. The appointment was renewed to 2025. In 2017, he was appointed Cavaliere del Lavoro by the President of the Italian Republic.

In his work as Chairman of the Fashion Task Force of the Sustainable Markets Initiative founded by King Charles III when he was Prince of Wales, he is using his technological expertise to find new ways to put sustainability at the heart of the fashion industry.

His journey began in 2000 when he founded YOOX, the world’s first lifestyle e-commerce destination; continued in 2009 when YOOX was listed on the Milan Stock Exchange and became the first “unicorn” in Italy; and finally in 2015 when he led the merger between YOOX and NET-A-PORTER to create the global leader in online luxury fashion.

 

 

Federico Marchetti è Fondatore del Gruppo YOOX NET-A-PORTER, Presidente della Fashion Task Force fondata dal Re Carlo III e Membro del Consiglio di Amministrazione della Giorgio Armani.

Nel 2021 ha accettato di far parte del Consiglio di Amministrazione di Highgrove Gardens e del Board of Trustees della Prince’s Foundation. Nello stesso anno, è entrato a far parte del Consiglio di Amministrazione del Gruppo Editoriale GEDI, il network editoriale leader in Italia per stampa, radio e digitale.

Nel 2020 è diventato il primo membro non appartenente alla famiglia a far parte del Consiglio di Amministrazione della Giorgio Armani. La nomina è stata rinnovata al 2025. Nel 2017 è stato nominato Cavaliere del Lavoro dal Presidente della Repubblica Italiana.

Nel suo lavoro come Presidente della Fashion Task Force della Sustainable Markets Initiative fondata dal Re Carlo III quando era Principe del Galles, sta utilizzando la sua esperienza tecnologica per trovare nuovi modi per mettere la sostenibilità al centro dell’industria della moda.

Il suo percorso inizia nel 2000 quando fonda YOOX, la prima destinazione di e-commerce di lifestyle al mondo; prosegue nel 2009 quando YOOX viene quotata alla Borsa di Milano e diventa il primo “unicorno” in Italia; e infine nel 2015 quando guida la fusione tra YOOX e NET-A-PORTER per creare il leader globale della moda di lusso online.
