Simon Macqueen è direttore della strategia di Sport England, un ente non dipartimentale del governo britannico responsabile degli investimenti nello sport e nell’attività fisica in Inghilterra. In questo ruolo, Macqueen ha supervisionato il lancio e l’attuazione di due importanti strategie nazionali, Towards an Active Nation nel 2016 e l’innovativa strategia decennale Uniting the Movement nel 2021. Inoltre, Macqueen è anche presidente del Watford FC Community Sport and Education Trust. In precedenza, è stato responsabile della supervisione degli investimenti del governo britannico negli organi direttivi nazionali dello sport (NGB) nell’ambito del programma di eredità olimpica di Londra 2012. Simon Macqueen is the Director of Strategy at Sport England, a non-departmental body for the UK Government responsible for investing in sport and physical activity across England. Within this role, Macqueen has overseen the launch and implementation of two significant national strategies, Towards an Active Nation in 2016 and the ground-breaking 10 year strategy Uniting the Movement in 2021. In addition, Macqueen is also Chair of the Watford FC Community Sport and Education Trust. Prior to this he was responsible for overseeing the UK Governments investment into National Governing Bodies of Sport (NGBs) as part of the London 2012 Olympic legacy programme. In the past, Macqueen has also worked for the English Football Association (FA) and has a background in coaching working as both a Coach Educator for the FA and also coaching in Watford FC’s academy.
