Giuseppe Scellato holds a Ph.D. in Economics and is assistant professor at Politecnico di Torino, where he teaches corporate finance and economics and management of innovation at post-graduate level. Since 2008 he is also research affiliate of the Bureau of Research in Innovation Complexity and Knowledge at Collegio Carlo Alberto. His main research interests are in the area of economics of innovation, the economic analysis of intellectual property rights and the economics of science. These themes are investigated both theoretically and with micro econometric techniques. He has been the scientific coordinator of the numerous research projects in the area of innovation, IPRs and finance for the European Commission, the European Parliament and the European Investment Fund. He manages the IP-L@b project, funded by Finmeccanica, for the development of innovative tools for technology intelligence.
His recent scientific publications have appeared in leading international journals, including Science, Nature Biotechnology, Journal of Banking and Finance, Research Policy, Journal of Business Research, Cambridge Journal of Economics, Int Small Business Journal, Industrial and Corporate Change, Economics Letters, Int Review of Law and Economic.
