Alfredo De Massis

Member of the Technology Forum Junior Chapter - Centre for Family Business at Lancaster University

Alfredo De Massis is the Director of the Centre for Family Business at Lancaster University Management School and professor in the area of Family Business at University of Bergamo (Italy), where he co-founded the Center for Young and Family Enterprise (CYFE) that he ran as Deputy Director until October 2013. He also serves as Chairman of the European Leadership Council and member of the Global Board of the Global STEP Project for Family Enterprising as well as member of the Academic Advisory Board of the Institute for Family Business (IFB) Research Foundation. His specific research focus is on family business, and his work has been published widely in leading academic and professional journals including Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of Small Business Management, Small Business Economics, Family Business Review, and The Journal of Technology Transfer. Alfredo has also been Editor of six special issues on family business (e.g., on California Management Review, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Small Business Economics and Global Strategy Journal). His most recent book (co-authored with P. Sharma, J.H. Chua and J.J. Chrisman) is entitled “Family Business Studies: An Annotated Bibliography”, published by Edward Elgar in October 2012. He has been TOFT Visiting Professor at Jonkoping International Business School (Sweden) and currently serves on the Editorial Board of Family Business Review.
