Ambassador of South Africa to Italy. H.E. Amb. Soni presented Letters of Credentials to President Sergio Mattarella, President of the Republic of Italy, on 27 February 2018. On 10 September 2018 he was accredited as Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. On 9 October 2018 Ambassador Soni presented Letters of Credentials as non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to the President of the Republic of Albania Illir Meta. Previously he was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Africa to the State Qatar and Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to the Republics of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
