Silvano Spinelli

Chariman, BiovelocITA - Venture Partner, Sofinnova Partners

Silvano Spinelli is Venture Partner of Sofinnova Partners and Chariman of BiovelocITA, the first Italian accelerator dedicated to biotech companies. He founded EOS S.p.A. (Ethical Oncology Science) in January 2006 and was Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors until November 2013 when the entire share capital of the company was acquired by Clovis Oncology, Inc. for $ 470 million. He co-founded Novuspharma and he was Chief Executive Officer from January 1999 to December 2003, when the Company was acquired by Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTI). Novuspharma completed its IPO on the New Market in November 2000, raising more than 160 million euros. He was Director of Research & Development at Boehringer Mannheim Italy until 1999 when the company was acquired by Roche. Silvano graduated in Pure Chemistry at the University of Pisa.
