Executive Director - Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Malaysia
Dato’ Charon Mokhzani has been the Executive Director in the Managing Director’s Office of Khazanah Nasional Berhad (the strategic investment fund of the Government of Malaysia) since November 2013.
He is also the founding Managing Director of the Khazanah Research Institute, a policy think-tank sponsored by Khazanah Nasional Berhad.
A former investment banker and lawyer, he joined Khazanah from the CIMB Group where he was a Deputy Chief Executive Officer head of investment banking globally, and Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Investment Bank.
Prior to that, he was the Managing Partner of Messrs Zaid Ibrahim & Co, Malaysia’s largest law firm.
He is a Chartered Banker and a Fellow of the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers. He is a non-practising barrister of the Middle Temple and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.
Dato’ Charon Mokhzani has a BA (Hons) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Balliol College, University of Oxford and an LLB in law from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.
