At present, Jo-Dann Darong is the Director III of the Department of Trade and Industry. Designated as the Assistant Director of the Competitiveness Bureau, JD oversees several Innovation and Competitiveness programs under the Science, Technology, and Innovation-based Industrialization Strategy of DTI, such as the Startup Pilipinas, Philippine Quality Awards (PQA) programs, and the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI), among others. He is also in-charge of the Philippine Creative Industries Development programs such as the Malikhaing Pinoy Program by virtue of the RA 11904 and as highlighted in the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2023-2028. In the public service, Dir. Jo-Dann N. Darong has been Supervisor and only Economist at the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission (2019-2022), Senior Insurance Planning Officer at the Department of Finance (2015-2019), Project Manager at the Development Academy of the Philippines (2010-2015) and Project Development Officer at the Department of Education-Head Office (2008-2010).
