Giuseppe Izzo is a distinguished leader in the semiconductor industry and prominent advocate for Taiwan’s international business relations. He is Group Vice President, Asia Public Affairs and Taiwan Managing Director for STMicroelectronics and Chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan. Recently awarded the lifetime title of Chairman Emeritus, he is the only Chairman in the chamber’s history to have been elected by the board three times. Under his tenure, he co-founded the ECCT Low Carbon Initiative, which since its founding in 2012 has been a key player to attracting European wind energy investments in Taiwan. Since settling in Taipei in 2007, he has contributed greatly to the semiconductor industry which has been recognised by Presidents Lai Ching-te and Tsai Ing-Wen, honoring him with the SEMI Taiwan Industry Contribution Award at several Semicon Taiwan editions. Giuseppe Izzo joined STMicroelectronics in 1987, where he has held various positions of responsibility in Milan, Chicago, Seoul, Hong Kong and Shanghai. Among other honors and distinctions, Giuseppe Izzo awarded the title of Chevalier dans l’ Ordre National du Merit by the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron (2022), Commander of the Order of the Star of Italy by the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella (2020), and received the Friendship Medal of Diplomacy by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Taiwan, Joseph Wu (2020) and the Taiwanese citizenship for special merits (2019).
