Sihasak Phuangketkeow

Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Thailand -

Sihasak Phuangketkeow is currently the Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs under the government of Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin. Ambassador Sihasak retired from the Thai foreign service at the end of September 2018. He was formerly Advisor for foreign affairs at the Office of Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor Special Development Zone. He is one of Thailand’s most senior career diplomats. His most recent postings were as Thai Ambassador to France between 2016-2018, during which he concurrently served as the Thai Permanent Delegate to UNESCO and his country’s representative to the OECD and as Thai Ambassador to Japan between 2015-2016. Throughout his career, he assumed a number of key positions both at home and abroad, including as Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs between 2011-2015. He has especially had extensive experience in policy matters related to ASEAN. He was the head of the Thai delegation to the ASEAN Senior Official’s Meeting from 2011 to 2015 and from 2006 to 2007.
