former President - Thailand Trade Representative

Kiat Sittheeamorn is Former President of Thailand Trade Representative and Former Member of Parliament. Elected by over 100 Member Political Parties from over 70 countries, he served as a Vice President of Liberal International during 2018 to 2022. He was elected 3 times as a Member of Parliament in 2019, 2011 and 2005. From 2009 to 2011, he served as President of Thailand Trade Representative, a Deputy Prime Minister ranking, acting as a special envoy of the Prime Minister responsible for Trade and Investment strategy development, negotiations, and implementation of International Agreements. His political career began when he was appointed as an Advisor to the Prime Minister in 1998 to help solve one of the worst devastating economic crises in Thailand and the region. Prior to his political career, he served as a Director of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Chairman of the ICC Thailand National Committee, a Director of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and a Deputy Secretary General of the Board of Trade of Thailand, and he represented Thailand in the East Asia Vision Group in 2001 to map out a new architecture between ASEAN and China, Japan and Republic of Korea.
