Attilio Fontana

Governor of Lombardy Region, Italy -

Attilio Fontana is Governor of the Lombardy Regional since 2018. He was a member of the Board of Directors and Deputy Vice Chairman of Fiera Milano from 2009 to 2017. He was regional councilor of Lombardy and President of the regional council (2000-2005) and President of ANCI Lombardia (2009-2014). He was elected Mayor of Varese in 2006 and re-elected in 2011. His political activity began with the birth of the Northern League: from 1995 to 1999 he was Mayor of Induno Olona. Previously, from 1983 to 1988, he assumed the role of Honorary Vice Praetor to the Pretura of Gavirate and, from 1979 to 1982, that of Conciliator of Induno Olona. He graduated in Law in 1975 at the University of Milan.
