Ferro took over as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Italian Trade Agency in January 2019, after leaving the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of STMicroelectronics (Italy) S.r.l. In STMicroelectronics NV since 1999, he held various top management positions up to President Finance Legal Infrastructure and Services and Chairman of ST (Italy) S.r.l. He has been for more than 15 years the Chief Financial Officer of the Group. Ferro was Vice President of Assolombarda with responsibility for Industrial Policies and Taxation and a member of the Board of Directors of the Digital Innovation Hub Lombardia. From 2018 to 2020, he was an advisor to the European Commission as a member of the Strategic Forum for major projects of European interest. He is adjunct professor of Planning and Control at LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome and of Strategies for Emerging Technologies at Cattolica del Sacro Cuore University in Milan. He is adjunct professor at LUISS Business School and scientific co-director of its Master in Corporate Finance. He is a member of the Board of Directors of QuattroR SGR, Vice President of the Leonardo Committee, member of the Board of Directors of the Italian-Japan Business Group, of the Italy-ASEAN Association, of the Italy-China Foundation and of Diplomatia and of the General Council of Assocamerestero. He is an extraordinary member of the Society of Italian Academics in Switzerland.
