Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan has been the Deputy Chief Minister of Sarawak and also the Second Minister for Urban Development & Natural Resources and Minister of Industrial & Entrepreneur Development, Sarawak since May 2017. He has been a Board Member of Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) since May 1999 and Chairman of STIDC Board  from since May 2011. He has been appointed as Second Minister of Planning & Resource Management since July 2004.  On 30^th September 2011, he was also appointed as Minister of Industrial Development Sarawak. He Graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) with a Bachelor Degree in Arts, (Hons) in 1981.
