President - Lombardy Regional government

President of the Lombardy Regional government, as a result of regional elections in March 2018. In 2018 he accepted the candidacy for the Presidency of the Lombardy Region and won the elections of March 4th with 49.75% of the votes cast. From 2009 to 2017 he was member of the board of directors and deputy vice president of Fiera Milano. His political activity has begun with the birth of the Northern League; from 1995 to 1999 he was Mayor of the municipality of Induno Olona; Mayor of Varese elected in the first round in 2006 and confirmed in 2011, in those years he also held the role of President of ANCI Lombardia (from 2009 to 2014); he then became Lombardy Regional Councilor and President of the Lombardy Regional Council from 2000 to 2005. From 1979 to 1982 he took on the office of Conciliatore of Induno Olona and from 1983 to 1988 the post of Honorary Deputy Pretore in the District Court of Gavirate. He was born in Varese on March 28,1952; father of three children – Maria Cristina, Giovanni and Marzia – and criminal lawyer since 1980 at the head of law company/office located in Varese, he graduated in Law in 1975 at the University of Milan.
