Mayor Smt. Preety Agarwal is a first time Councillor from North Delhi Ward No.57-N, Rohini-F. With a politically active family background her knowledge on the subject is vast. Hers is the third generation involved in politics. Born on 23rd  January, 1974, Smt. Agarwal graduateci in Science from Delhi University. She pursued her interest in various other subjects from some of the prestigious institutions of the country. As a multi-talented student, she was very active in sports and painting and received accolades in various events.

Smt. Agarwal entered into active politics in the year 2000 and hasn’t looked back since then. Right to Education and Right to Health are some of her priority concerns and she has been working tirelessly to provide them to the people far aver a long time. She was a part of the cow awareness celi of the Bhartiya Janata Party, Gau Vansh Vikas Prakoshth wherein she actively propagated that the cow should be treated as a member of the family. She believes that protection of cows and bullocks is integrai to the lndian social philosophy.

Preety Agarwal is also an ardent follower of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi and is a part of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao initiative and is aiming to increase the literacy rate of women in her area of jurisdiction. By virtue of her public service, she was made the Generai Secretary of the Mahila Morcha Delhi State Bhartiya Janata Party. She also became the Secretary of the BJP Delhi State. Thereafter she got elected as a member of the Corporation. Smt. Agarwal’s main goal is to ensure the ‘3S’, i.e., Swachhta, Shiksha and Swasthya (Sanitation, Education and Health) in North Delhi areas and she is leaving no stone unturned to achieve this goal of hers.

During her tenure as Mayor, North DMC, Smt. Agarwal has run various awareness campaigns among sanitation workers and Residents’ Welfare Associations alongwith the Corporation schools with the help of technical staff. The aim behind these campaigns is to make the people aware of the need far sanitation, education and leading a healthy life. She is working towards improving the image of the Corporation in the eyes of the people of Delhi by providing them every possible facility and addressing their issues.

A leader par excellence, the Mayor considers herself as a socia! worker more than a politician and fights far the cause of the poor and the downtrodden. She has etched her name among the popular youth leaders not only in her ward but in the city as a whole.
