President’s Special Envoy on Investment, South Africa - Chairman, Old Mutual Group Holdings
Chairperson of Old Mutual Group Holdings (OMGH). In April 2018 Mr. Manuel has also been appointed by President Cyril Ramaphosa as one of the four “Special Envoys on Investment” that have the task to engage both domestic and foreign investors on business opportunities in South Africa. He has served in the South African Government for more than 20 years, including as Minister of Finance from 1996 to 2009 and as Minister in Presidency, responsible for the National Planning Commission, from 2009 to 2014. During his ministerial career he assumed a number of ex-officio positions at international bodies including the United Nations Commission for Trade and Development, the World Bank the International Monetary Fund, the G20, the African Development Bank and the SADC.
