Nicolò D’Amico

President, Italian National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF) and Chair Professor of Astrophysics at Physics Department of the University of Cagliari, Italy. Prof. D’Amico was Associate Astronomer at Bologna Observatory, Research Associate at Institute of Radio Astronomy of Bologna and Director of the Sardinia Radio Telescope. His main interests are in radio astronomy, in particular the observations and studies of neutron stars and pulsars. Prof. D’Amico has been involved in several pulsar search experiments at Parkes, in Australia, which he visited more than 35 times during his career. He served as evaluator in different projects: among others, he was Member of the Review Committee of the QTT Chinese telescope and Referee for the sector “Science of the Universe” in the European Program “ERC Starting Grant” 3rd Call.
