Head of Institutional Advocacy - UNICEF Italia
Currently working with the Italian National Committee for UNICEF, over the last 35 years, has held positions of increasing responsibility within UNICEF, the UN Secretariat and the International Labour Organization spanning themes of child protection, urban basic services, nutrition, health, HIV/AIDS and social protection in health.
Her regional concentration has been primarily in sub-Saharan Africa, with some focus also on Asia and on Central and Latin America. Her specific interest is in development initiatives that leverage forces in society to bring about major social change that benefits children and women. Between 2004 ad 2009 she managed the Child friendly Cities Secretariat held by UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre.
She earned a Master of Public Affairs from Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs from Princeton University and an Arts Baccalaureate Cum Laude in Government with minor in Economics from Cornell University.
