Chairman, APRC - Former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand - 亚洲和平与和解委员会主席

Professor Dr. Surakiart Sathirathai is Chairman of the Asian Peace and Reconciliation Council (APRC). Member of the Board of Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) and Member of the Board of “Leaders for Peace” chaired by Former Prime Minister of France Jean-Pierre Raffarin. He received his Bachelor of Law with Honours from Chulalongkorn University, Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and a Doctorate and Master of Law from the Harvard Law School. In politics, he served as the Deputy Prime Minister (2005-2006), and Acting Minister of Culture (2006), Minister of Foreign Affairs (2001-2005), Minister of Finance (1995-1996), including Advisor to several Prime Ministers of Thailand. In International affairs, his experiences include Co-Chair with Former President Jimmy Carter of the Carter Center Delegation to observe Election in Nepal (2008, 2013 and 2017). In academia, among other positions, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Law of Chulalongkorn University, Visiting Professor at the Watson Institute for International Studies, Brown University, USA, and Senior Fellow of Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Siam Premier International Law Office Co., Ltd. with an office in Lao P.D.R, Chairman of Pepsi-Cola (Thai) Trading Co., Ltd. Chairman of the Board of Raimon Land Plc., Advisory Chairman of AEC Securities PLC, as well as Advisory Chairman for Asia and Member of the International Strategic Advisory Board, SICPA S.A. Switzerland.


教育背景:1979年,毕业于泰国曼谷朱拉隆功大学,取得法学荣誉学士学位(金勋章奖);1981年,毕业于美国塔夫斯大学佛莱契尔法律外交学院,取得法律外交学硕士学位;1985年,毕业于美国哈佛大学法学院,取得法学硕士与法学博士学位。从政经历 :1995年至1996年,担任财政部长;2001年2月至2005年3月,担任外交部部长;2005 年3月至2006年9月,担任副总理。特别委任:2007年至2013年,与美国前总统吉米·卡特担任尼泊尔大选观察团的联合主席;商业经历: 担任Siam Premier国际律师事务所董事会主席 担任百事可乐(泰国)贸易有限公司主席; 1998年至2000年,担任PTT勘探生产股份有限公司董事会主席。学术经历: 担任美国哈佛大学法学院全球法律与政策研究中心顾问委员会委员;担任美国塔夫斯大学佛莱契尔法律外交学院亚洲顾问小组成员; 1992年8月至1995年7月,担任朱拉隆功大学法学院院长与法学副教授。
